Malaysia – Travel Sentiments during COVID-19

With the Conditional Movement Control Order intended to end June 9th, 56% of Malaysians say they will be confident enough to consider travelling overseas at least a year after. A study by Malaysian Association of Tour & Travel Agents, powered by Rakuten Insight Global, examines travel sentiments during the pandemic.

81% will be more confident to travel overseas if COVID-19 infection is under control in the destination country, while about 62% state that their own financial stability would be a major reason.

87% stated they will check the steps taken to ensure cleanliness when choosing their local travel itinerary and majority are planning to travel domestically by own vehicle.
