Previous surveys conducted on our proprietary panels have shown that the consumers are being impacted by COVID-19 and as such it is critical to know your consumer in these times.
With the objective of discovering what consumers in Asia, US & UK are “Watching, Chatting, Reading & Shopping” we surveyed 7,200 respondents equally sampled from China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States and Vietnam.
Themes which have emerged in this study include differing attitudes & behaviours towards:
- Social Rules: Japan is one Asian market which has stronger adherence to social rules such as 3Cs (avoiding closed spaces, crowds, contact)
- Device: Importance of smartphone in some Asian markets is clear compared to US/UK
- Hobbies/Free-time : Differing ways of reporting how leisure time is spent depending on local culture e.g. Japan watching fewer movies
- Family, Friends: Support networks can vary depending on the culture in each Asian market
